Hello Longhorn Family,
I am the Assistant Principal overseeing the CTE Program, the Physical Education Department, and Attendance at Legacy High School. I am a passionate believer that schools have the power to transform communities and serve as centerpieces for student success. As the parent of 3 children ages 23, 22, and 11, I recognize the importance of a strong educational foundation. As educators, we must understand our students and use that information to drive our instruction. I am ready to work collaboratively with each of you to solve our student’s challenges and celebrate their successes.
Before joining the Legacy family, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 23 years, all with the Clark County School District. From support staff, guest teacher, classroom teacher, learning strategist, dean of students, to assistant principal. I believe my previous experiences have prepared me to be an asset to the Legacy community.
As a proud product of the Nevada school system myself, I have a personal interest in ensuring that our students are receiving a first-rate education. I want to be intentional about how students are served at Legacy High School to enter their next level of education or career field, ready to meet the demands. I recognize the importance and opportunity to truly cement students’ trajectory during high school, and I look forward to the challenge of expanding those opportunities for our students at Legacy.
I look forward to a great year with each of you.
LaTara Laster
