The Counseling Department at Legacy High School is forming an Advisory Council. The advisory council is a representative group of stakeholders (e.g. student, parent, staff, community, administration, etc.) selected to review and advise on the implementation of the school counseling program.
The Advisory Council is a great asset to the comprehensive school counseling program. The council is a team invited by the school counselors to meet a minimum of two times per year. The school counseling team sets the agenda for the meetings and guides the discussion. The purpose of the council is to provide feedback on program goals (developed and explained by the school counselor), review program results (based on data presentations by the school counselors), make recommendations about the school counseling program, and serve as advocates for the program.
